我曾說過，昔日趙高在朝中指鹿為馬，並不是他不懂得分辨鹿和馬，而是展示自己權勢的快感，他刻意說錯，除了測試有沒有人夠膽提出異議外，也能從中知道誰是不順從自己說話的人。當權者的做法換來一時的權勢威嚇，下屬又不敢表現出應有的勇氣，結果就成為秦國速亡的原因之一。
人可以藉着權勢來管理和掌控別人，因此怎樣運用權勢正顯露那人表現本來的真面目，至於沒有權勢的人怎樣面對當權者，同樣也可以使人明白那人的質素。
