聖經希伯來文的名詞若要具有指明的作用，可以有三種方法表達，情況與中文是一樣，例如「小芬踢一個男人」：
（1）加上冠詞：「小芬踢該男人」
（2）加上人稱後綴：「小芬踢她的男人」
（3）專有名稱：「小芬踢小明」
聖經希伯來文的冠詞只有一個，表達有兩個方面：第一是在字詞的前面加上前綴הַ，第二是加上前綴後要重複接著的字母，即是加上「重複小點」（dageš forte）。[1]
5.2. 冠詞的表達模式
由於冠詞加在字詞的前綴，所以不用理會該字的詞數和詞性的後綴，直接加上去就成，不過要注意該字第一個子音和母音，冠詞的母音就要有適當的變化。
